WINTER BLAST is the annual Reach Students (EFCA) Central District winter retreat for Middle School students. Every year, churches from the district gather at Hidden Acres in Dayton, IA to worship, learn, play, grow & get away from the normal, everyday things of life.

Theme: “Love God, Love Self, Love Others”
Key Passage: “One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.””

Description: We were created to be in relationship, Genesis 1: 27… first and foremost, we were created to be in relationship with God. Being in relationship with others is a bonus that comes out of being loved by God. Loving God is my vertical relationship, loving others are my horizontal relationships… But we don’t often talk about the hinge point in between, me. How am I doing at receiving the love of God, loving myself for who he created me to be. When I do that, I am unclogged and unhindered, able to allow that love to flow through me and to others naturally.
